The Outsiders was my first mainstage production at NCT. It was a challenging design, featuring a two-tiered pair of catwalks on the face of a forced-perspective wall that recalled the backside of a billboard. Constructed of steel framing and plywood, the set included several moving parts as well - a ladder that pivots between the catwalks, a sliding door on the bottom level, and a pivoting knife-hinged door on the middle level.
